LSD edited this book with Professor Robert Patman. He also co-authored two of the chapters in the book.
This is the first academic book to be published about the newly developing field of science diplomacy in which the role of science is merged with international relations in order to deal with many of the significant issues facing the world, such as climate change, pandemics, water quality, nuclear arms, and the loss of biodiversity, as well as a means for undertaking science research that would be beyond the scope of a single country's resources (e.g. space exploration, the Large Hadron Collider, and international science projects such as those in Antarctica.).
Science and technology are at the heart of almost all the significant problems facing the world - as either the problem and/or the cure. This book is immensely important as the first to address this area of rapidly developing significance.
